My sister's house was flooded over last weekend and she has the restoration guys tearing apart her carpets and cutting holes to vent her condo out.

Wouldnt you know it? All of the hotels in Burnaby have been booked since last week up until next week for one reason or another. She's been waiting for last minute cancellations daily so she and my mom will have a place to hang their shoes at night.

A friend of hers just passed away and she flew to Edmonton last night, so I camped out with my mom. They have a room at the Best Western on Kingsway. It's definitely going on my never-to-come-back-and-stay-with-ever-again.

And what is with all these dogs?

This morning the first on my agenda is not to stay here tonight, so I called 10 hotels. No go. Apparently the National Dog Convention and a Province Wide Ice Skating Competition is in town. Finally found a room at the Hilton. The last one. A King Suite. With Internet Wireless in the room *doing the cabbage patch * Very nice......
