I learned a very valuable lesson this morning about moving your Blogspot Address to your own domain. Blogger automatically makes your Blogspot Address available for anyone to grab. And in my case, it was gone in minutes.
I am in the process of migrating my Blogspot sites to their own domain. The first one to go was Cruise Headlines. The move was smooth because I only really just had test posts on Blogspot. I moved The Discount Diva its own domain around midnight and within minutes my blogspot address - thediscountdiva.blogspot.com was taken by a squatter.
I did everything I heard I was supposed to do - leave a message on my blogspot address that I was moving and provided the domain address. Change my ftp settings to my domain. And off I went.
The moral of the story is - if you have visitor stats of over 100 a day (like The Discount Diva), you should also re-register your blogspot address the minute you upload the ftp settings. This will ensure that your previous visitors (or links to ads or articles on the net) will still find you. And not some squatter whore who will reap the benefits of your self promotion.
May that squatter burn in hell.

You must be using Blogger software on your new domain...I have heard about this problem in that context. I moved using Wordpress and such a thing did not happen...it's simply just another blog as far as blogger is concerned. I am sorry about your loss..but don't worry much, you will come back to the old traffic very soon..i know how hard you work on this stuff. good luck
