I am a very superstitious individual. Well, maybe I should correct that. I am a very superstitious religious individual. That's not a good mix of contradictory words.....
I have always believed that our birthdays have a bearing on who we are today. Just dont ask me to explain. I have very strange views about life and existence sometimes.
So, during a recent visit at Wikipedia.com, I entered my birthday - just month and date, no year. I am so glad to share my special day with these folks. Well, maybe not with Nero. He wasnt so lucky on that day.....
Here's the abbreviated version.
EVENTS:
68 - Roman Emperor Nero commits suicide, imploring his secretary Epaphroditus to slit his throat to evade a Senate-imposed death by flogging.
1534 - Jacques Cartier is the first European to discover the St. Lawrence River.
1790 - Philadelphia Spelling Book by John Barry becomes the first book to be copyrighted in the United States.
1815 - End of the Congress of Vienna: new European political situation is set.
1856 - 500 Mormons leave Iowa City, Iowa and head west for Salt Lake City, Utah carrying all their possessions in two-wheeled handcarts.
1863 - American Civil War: Battle of Brandy Station, Virginia.
1934 - Donald Duck debuts in The Wise Little Hen.
1935 - Alcoholics Anonymous founded when Dr. Bob Smith had his last drink on June 9, 1935.
1978 - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints opens the priesthood to "all worthy men", ending a 148-year-old policy excluding black men.
BIRTHS:
1640 - Leopold I, Holy Roman Emperor (d. 1705)
1661 - Tsar Feodor III of Russia (d. 1682)
1672 - Tsar Peter I of Russia (d. 1725)

1961 - Michael J. Fox, Canadian-born actor

So, if I was to write a fictional story about my life, incorporating all these little tidbits. It would definitely be interesting. I wonder. Mormon, Alektra Blue in the same story line? I think this is just a best seller waiting to happen.
