AdSense certainly seems to be the start of monetizing a blog but I guess people are slow coming to senses and realizing that it's not as great as it is potrayed to be. Searching in Google...I won't expect anything other than AdSense to turn up in the search results :)

Adsense is good in the right enviroment but for a blog it's almost totally useless. Have you looked into PayPerPost yet? I signed up with them awhile back and made some cash but haven't done anything lately although they've still got really great oppertunities:

The thing I actually found to be the most helpful and cash generating was something I put no effort into. A PR/Marketing Firm found me somewhere and started buying text links on my blogs side bar. I've found dealing directly with the advertiser is much easier than trying to go through an ad service.

That would have been my next question - I was wondering how you got your paid links because it looked different than the other "advert" links. Good for you!

Hopefully my blogs might get some exposure that way.....
