Last Saturday was Lem's cousin's birthday and we had to go to a dinner at that new yuppy restaurant Joey's on Broadway. You know what that means, got to dig through my clothes and look for something suitable to wear. It's a great excuse to get all dressed up and do that makeup and the hair.
Except, that the hair was just not cooperating. It's been six months since I got the last haircut and I didn't want to trek to downtown Vancouver just to see my absolutely fabulous (and did I say Gorgeous) Ted, the hair guru. Besides, an appointment with him could cost me some pretty penny even if he does such a great job....
Anyway, so last Saturday, Lem drove me to Surrey Place Center to get a haircut and the only place that was open was a Barbershop. So I stood outside for a moment saying "should I or should I not". I've had my share of horror haircuts and I don't think I want another one of those. Left with no choice, I went in and found a new hairstylist!
It was such a great deal! This vietnamese lady cut my hair for $19.00 and straightened it for $20.00. I gave her a $10.00 tip because, if you've ever seen my thick hair, you would know it's such a big feat to be able to make it go straight. And it's been such a long time since I've seen it straight..... Ted would have cost me at last $100.00!
I am making an appointment to permanently straighten my hair with the same hairdresser. I can't wait....
I went to visit my mom on Monday, and my sister Rosie was looking at me kind of strangely. This is the firt time ever, that she has longer hair that I do! I had it all cut off just a little bit below my shoulder blades. And her hair is all the way to her butt. She thought I had gone off the deep end..... She's so lucky, she's picked my mom's genes and she has bone straight asian hair, and poor me, picked up dad's ultra curly hawaiian hair. Well, won't be for long. I'm getting my hair straightened!!!!!
