Store #1 - Shamin Jewellers, Metrotown, Burnaby.
They didnt have much selection of bands. The prices actually were cheaper than I thought. I guess they cater to the mass consumer with a lower budget. The rings with stones were all SI quality and a lower color grade than F. There were really just two selections for men's rings. Very plain and Very Gaudy. Nothing in the middle.
The salesperson that assisted me, wasnt as knowledgeable as I expected. I am an informed customer, kudos to Lemmy, about what I am looking for in a ring. If she knew the quality of my engagement ring, she would not be recommending SI quality. She did tell me though that there is no real difference between the SI and the VVS1 quality. And that I should get the SI - ring she was holding. I asked to see if they had any VVS1s and she said no. Figures. She just wants me to buy what she was offering right there.
So, I'm off to another store sometime this week. Lem wants quality rings and I dont think he would like the "Surrey stuff" they were offering at Shamin.

Just read your post on Shamins, I bought my gents band there and it is VS and DE Colour and EXC cuts, quite nice, had it made by them but they can do it all and are very reasonable. I went to many stores but found shamins had the most styles to choose from. Bought her ring from them too, again they made it, three stone, center VS2, D, Ideal, in Plat. They dont carry in show case but they had it ready for me in five days. So don't rule them out!
