Lem and I decided that we really needed to get away from our computers. He dug up his free movie passes and off we went in search for a good movie. We decided to go watch two movies back-to-back - Pirates of the Carribean and afterwards, Superman.

It's opening weekend for the Pirates of the Carribean and we got stuck in the lineup getting into the movie theatre. When they finally opened the doors, it was like a strange version of Musical Chairs with about 400 people looking for the best seats in the house. Of course, we got what we wanted, but it was just so irritating getting one person after another asking me if the seat beside me was taken when Lem went out to buy us food.

The Pirates of the Carribean was all it was hyped up to be - dirty pirates, pirate ship fights, bar fights, a lot of goo and of course sexy Jack Sparrow. The special effects were fantastic, except halfway through, I was just thinking this movie is too long. I think the story line got lost in between the cannons firing and the bottle fights.

We didnt end up watching Superman because the reel of our Pirates movie literally burned and we had a 40 minute intermission while they were fixing it. It wasnt too shabby because they gave us free movie tickets for the inconvenience.
